Time Always Wins

Can time change
the path
set out for us,

or the years
lost between words

or the wounds
of everything
that was stolen?

In the end
we learn to adapt,

to wear pain
like a second skin,
because in the end,

time always wins.
You know that feeling, when you watch a movie, and you get haunted by it days after, like a part of you is still in it? That’s what I felt after watching “Never Let Me Go”.

“Maybe none of us really understand what we’ve lived through, or feel we’ve had enough time.” ― Kazuo Ishiguro, Never Let Me Go

  1. sometimes, we don’t know why something would have such a strong impact on us when we encountered it, and it wouldn’t be later on, as we re-examined the paths we’d taken in our live, would we learn, the meanings of the things that impacted us.
